I can’t imagine why anyone would call their wine Fat Bastard..The wine is produced in the southern part of France (by two men, Thierry Boudinard and Guy Anderson). The name came about after winemaker Thierry remarked to Guy, “now zat iz what you call eh phet bast-ard” in reference to how full-bodied the wine tasted.

I recently became more interested in drinking Chardonnay's and aware of the differences in the tastes and quality of the different wines.

This Chardonnay is full bodied and has a wonderful color and rich, round palate. When I initially saw the name of the wine, I must admit I was a bit spectacle about how it would taste, but to my surprise it is an absolute wonderfully finished wine. It is definitely on the favorites list for me.

It is a perfect match with a variety of cheeses, poultry and cream sauce pastas, or when relaxing with friends and family. I had this wine on its own while socialising with friends and it is easy to drink, maybe too easy... :)
