Back by Popular demand this fantastic Fleurie from Labouré-Roi really shows what top notch Beaujolais should be like. Deep ruby in colour with a highly aromatic nose suggesting red fruits alongside violet and rose floral notes. With strawberry jam flavours on the palate, some say Fleurie is the most elegant of the Beaujolais Crus. Supple and silky, this would be perfect when served with cured pork meats.

I bought a bottle Cecchi wine a few years ago and I enjoyed it. When I was in ASDA I noticed this interesting bottle of Chianti and thought I would try it and see how it stacked up.
First impression of this wine is it punches well above its weight. I do enjoy a good Italian wine and this is no exception. It is smooth, easy to drink, but had that full bodied richness associated with Italian reds.
On a side note, the basket it is presented in catches the drips very well… bonus!

ABOUT THIS WINE: Winemaker Cedric Jenin should know a thing or two about Chardonnay: after all, he was born and bred in Burgundy, the home from home of this versatile white grape variety. Cedric is now based in the Languedoc region at the excellent Domaines Virginie, a long-time partner of ours which has pioneered the use of modern winemaking techniques to bring out the very best in southern French wine.This is a classic example of that style: a clean, crisp and ripe Chardonnay with just a hint of oak to round out the apple fruit flavours and give the wine a food-friendly edge.
SERVING: Roast chicken will work well. Some smoked or richer type of fish would be the perfect partner to this well balanced wine. Ideal serving temperature 8-9°C.
